Codex
The codex is an in game documentation device that provides you further information on the story lines, characters, lore and many other features as you play your way through the game. In most cases, when you discover a new location, your codex will have a new entry. These new entries often times can pop up when you find a lore item, a new species or even during quests to help enhance an already thriving story line.
