Lamalla Rann is a female human reporter encountered on the planet Ord Mantell. She set out to document the separatist occupation of Mannett Point with her holorecording specialist Waxx.

Lamalla Rann and her partner, a holorecording specialist named Waxx, set out to document the separatist occupation of Mannett Point. In the fighting, however, the two got separated. Rann was able to leave the island, but Waxx remains lost somewhere on the Point. The recordings that the two made during the conflict are valuable; Rann is willing to pay for the holodiscs' recovery.
