"With her serene and considerate manner, one might mistake Lana Beniko for a Jedi. She is, however, a Sith Lord of great wisdom and strength who has impressed many of her peers in a considerably short period of time with her keen insights into the nature of the Force. It was Beniko’s treatise on the perceived moral parallels of Jedi and Sith in battlefield settings–as well as her passion for unraveling the truths and secrets behind the Jedi–that brought her to the attention of Darth Arkous of the Dark Council. She has since become his most trusted advisor."
―In-game Codex (Persons of Note)[src]

Lana Beniko was a Human female Sith Lord who served the Sith Empire during the Galactic War against the Galactic Republic and the Order of Revan. She was promoted to Minister of Sith Intelligence after the Revanite crisis ended, and deployed troops to Ziost after the former Sith Emperor Vitiate took control of the Imperial forces on the ground. She was later involved in fighting the Eternal Empire across the galaxy as their fleet tore the Empire and Republic to shreds, and later worked with the Outlander to stop them.

Beniko was stationed on Hoth when the Treaty of Coruscant was in place. She attempted to end the fighting against the Republic to keep in accordance with the treaty, but was refused by an Imperial commander. She responded by attacking him and cutting off his hand.

She was eventually transferred to Vaiken Spacedock and became an advisor to Darth Arkous. The two of them, along with another Imperial-allied contact, successfully coordinated and executed an assault on the Jedi homeworld of Tython. When the Republic subsequently responded with their own attack on Korriban, Beniko revealed to their ally that Arkous' true motive for attacking Tython was to retrieve an artifact. She then pieced together a theory based upon both of these recent campaigns: Arkous might be involved in a conspiracy that has the potential to threaten the Empire. Unfortunately, her investigations turned up short.

Beniko then came into contact with SIS agent Theron Shan, subsequently forming an alliance to investigate a Republic Colonel Rian Darok. Both were able to collect enough data and evidence to insinuate that the two were working together. Both dispatched strike teams to the planet Manaan (without the knowledge of their respective factions) in the hopes of receiving more information to confirm that the two were in league. They raided the lab on a Selkath geneticist who was constructing cyborgs and shipping them to Darok and Arkous. It was at this point that Shan and Beniko understood that the two were now part of the Order of Revan, and the cyborgs were in creation to serve Revan himself, who wanted to recreate the Infinite Empire in his image.

Beniko's and Shan's combined forces traveled to the long lost planet Rakata Prime and confronted and killed both Arkous and Darok. After their deaths, Revan himself appeared in hologram, confirming that Arkous and Darok were part of the same cult that also operated on Dromund Kaas. After news of Arkous' death reached the rest of the Empire, Beniko learned that a price had been placed on her head, preventing her from returning. Learning that the same thing had happened to Shan, the two of them went into hiding on Rishi and eventually contacted their ally who had helped with their previous campaigns. The three of them, along with Jakarro and C2-D4, managed to foil Revan's plans to turn different pirate gangs on hyperspace routes.

Their efforts led them to information that showed that millions of both Republic and Imperial troops were, in truth, aligned with the Order of Revan, and had called both fleets to Rishi with the hopes of having them tear each other apart. Their attempt was turned back by Satele Shan and Darth Marr discovering the traitors and ending in a temporary cease fire and tracking Revan to Yavin 4. Both Beniko and Theron Shan were reinstated in their respective factions, and their joint campaign ended with Revan's eventual demise.

After the operation's end, Marr promoted Beniko to head of Sith Intelligence.
