1st Cutscene -- Opening on Manaan[]
- Major Anri: Raven to nest, Raven to nest! I've got two Republic fighters on my tail. I can't shake 'em. Requesting backup!
- Major Anri: This is Major Anri of Raven Squad, still under fire... C'mon, I need help down here!
- Major Anri: Blast! Can anyone read me?
- Player: I read you, Major. Loud and clear.
- Major Anri: Really appreciate your sense of timing, Commander. Wasn't too sure I'd get out of that one.
- Player: What's going on? Where did those Republic fighters come from?
- Major Anri: See that dreadnought? Meet me there. We'll get you all caught up.
Ambient Dialogue 1 -- Aboard the Executioner[]
- Imperial Officer: "Get these weapons secure-now!"
- Imperial Soldier: "Everyone's trapped down there... Korrd better have a hell of a plan to get out of this one."
- Imperial Commando: "I served with Korrd on Corellia. If there's one thing I can say about the man, it's "Do not underestimate him.""
- Imperial Squad Leader: "We need everyone ready to move. No exceptions!"
- Imperial Trooper: "Darth Norok's down there. He'll handle the Republic."
- Imperial Gunner: "Hope you're right. I mean, he does oversee logistics..."
- Imperial Trooper: Of course I'm right! Don't let Norok's title fool you--I heard he's never lost a lightsaber duel."
- Imperial Captain: "We've got three squads cleared and ready. Just need the go-ahead from Major Anri."
2nd Cutscene -- The Executioner's Launch Deck[]
- Major Anri: I need the rest of them ready to go in ten, Captain. Understood?
- Captain Vondral: Right away, Major.
- Major Anri: Welcome aboard the Executioner, Commander.
- Major Anri: Wish I could've organized a welcome party, but we need your help straight away.
- Tell me what's happened.
- Player: You said you would explain what's happening here, Major.
- Major Anri: Straight to business, then. Good.
- What am I getting myself into?
- Player: I thought I was here to support the Empire's kolto operation. What are Republic forces doing on Manaan?
- Major Anri: Being a pain in all our backsides.
- Then let's get started.
- Player: All right, then. Tell me who I need to hurt first.
- Major Anri: Easy. You know I admire your guts, but let's bring you up to speed first.
- Tell me what's happened.
- Major Anri: Colonel Korrd was running a pretty tight ship with this kolto operation. We dropped mining platforms right on the water, real state-of-the-art stuff.
- Major Anri: Got everything up and running quick: harvesting, refining, shipping. We were up to our necks in kolto.
- Major Anri: The Selkath didn't even know what hit 'em--until the Republic got a whiff of what was going on.
- Colonel Korrd?
- Player: Who is this Colonel Korrd you spoke of?
- Major Anri: My new commanding officer. Raven Squad was transferred to Korrd's regiment not long before he kicked things off on Manaan.
- Why aren't you down there?
- Player: If things are going so well, what are you doing up here?
- Major Anri: Rounding up the calvary.
- Bring me the person in charge.
- Player: If you're not giving the orders here, Major, let me speak to someone who is.
- Major Anri: You can't. That's why I'm here.
- Colonel Korrd?
- Major Anri: Once the Republic brought the big funs, the locals started to put up a fight. Some of the Selkath even got organized enough to take over our kolto refining station.
- Major Anri: That station was our base of operations, and now our people are stuck inside--including Colonel Korrd. All our platforms are cut off from each other. Whole thing's a mess.
- Major Anri: If we want this operation back on track, first thing to do is kick the Selkath off our base, which I can't do alone. Could really use your help down there...
- I'm behind you all the way.
- Player: It sounds like we don't have a second to waste. I'm ready when you are.
- [Flirt] Anything for you, Anri.
- Player: Whatever you desire, I am at your service.
- Major Anri: You really are too good to be true, aren't you?
- I know you do.
- Player: Once again, the fate of the Empire rests in my hands.
- Major Anri: At least we keep things exciting for you.
- I'm behind you all the way.
- Major Anri: Fantastic. Knew I could count on you.
- Major Anri: I've already given the order to ready as many troops on board as we can, just need to get them down to the surface and--
- Captain Vondral: Major Anri! The first dropship we sent down... it was completely destroyed as soon as it entered Manaan's airspace! Our scanners show it was Republic anti-aircraft weapons.
- Major Anri: Are the enormous guns mounted on this eyesore just for show? If you've got their weapons in your sights, take them out!
- Captain Vondral: We can't! Once we started the targeting sequence, their weapons disappeared from our instruments altogether.
- Player: How can that be?
- Major Anri: Damn it! Don't know what the Republic's playing at, but I'm not sending any more soldiers down until we find out.
- Major Anri: As long as those Republic dogs are helping the Selkath, our efforts on Manaan are dead in the water. So to speak.
- Don't lose hope.
- Player: If we work together, we will deal a significant blow to the Republic
- Major Anri: All right. What are you thinking?
- Not while I'm here.
- Player: That's not an option, and there are other ways to solve this problem.
- Major Anri: All right. What are you thinking?
- Pull yourself together.
- Player: If we're going to resume this operation, I won't entertain this kind of hopelessness.
- Major Anri: All right. What are you thinking?
- Don't lose hope.
- Player: You and I will retake your base. The Republic's weapons won't lock on to a small shuttle--you were able to escape Manaan relatively unscathed.
- Major Anri: Solid point. And once we take the Republic's fancy weapons out of the equation, we'll clear the way for reinforcements.
- Major Anri: You heard the plan, Vondral. Hold down the fort up here. We'll signal when it's safe to deploy everyone else.
- Major Anri: It's great to have your help again. Now, let's show these kelp-lovers what we're made of, yeah?
Ambient Dialogue 2 -- Invasion Zone[]
- Player: What happened here? How did the Empire lost control?
- Major Anri: Like I said, everything was going to plan. Better than that, really--we were unstoppable."
- Major Anri: We had an icon cannon that could stop entire fleets in their tracks. Anyone who thought they could take a run at us got a personal demonstration.
- Major Anri: But the Republic had to go and stick their noses where they don't belong. Things took a turn when they helped the Selkath blow up our cannon.
- Selkath Officer: "Your platform is ours now!"
- Player: "Losing a single weapon caused all of this?"
- Major Anri: "Hey, it was a really powerful gun."
- Major Anri: "When it blew up, the ion explosion knocked out everything: comms, weapons, vehicles. You name it, it went dark."
- Major Anri: "These bottom feeders took advantage of the chaos and went on the offensive. Since we couldn't call for backup, Colonel Korrd sent me back to the Executioner for reinforcements."
- Major Anri: "Then you showed up, just in the nick of time."
3rd Cutscene -- Confronting Captain Jhanil[]
- Captain Jhanil: We told you the Empire wasn't welcome here. We gave you every chance to leave. Now, you leave us no choice.
- Colonel Korrd: I will never give up our position on Manaan, no matter how many "chances" you give us. The Empire needs more kolto than your tight-fisted government is willing to sell.
- Captain Jhanil: You have poisoned our home with your loathsome greed, and we will purge every last trace of your presence from Manaan's waters.
- Major Anri: Hey, shark bait--over here!
- I'm willing to negotiate.
- Player: Put down your weapon. I know there's a peaceful way to resolve this.
- Captain Jhanil: I am no fool--any agreement with the Empire will mean suffering for my people.
- Captain Jhanil: I grow tired of Imperial arrogance. I will entertain it no longer!
- Join us.
- Player: You must know that the Empire will be victorious. Here's your chance to join the winning side.
- Captain Jhanil: I grow tired of Imperial arrogance. I will entertain it no longer!
- [Attack] How dare you?
- Player: If a fight is what you prefer, I will happily oblige.
- I'm willing to negotiate.
4th Cutscene -- Rescuing Colonel Korrd[]
- Colonel Korrd: On your feet! I want this place back in working order immediately!
- Colonel Korrd: Talriss! Get this display back online.
- Colonel Korrd: Darr, reestablish long-range communications--now! We've been cut off from the other platforms for too long.
- Major Anri: Colonel Korrd, sir! This is--
- Colonel Korrd: I know who this is, Major. Where are the reinforcements I asked for?
- I am the reinforcements.
- Player: I've come to help you retake control. You won't need anyone else but me.
- Some thanks would be welcome.
- Player: I just saved your life, Colonel, and the lives of your soldiers. Some gratitude would be appreciated.
- Colonel Korrd: Indeed. Thank you, then, for not standing idle and watching my soldiers die. Now, about my reinforcements?
- Show some respect, Colonel.
- Player: I don't think you really know who you're speaking to, Korrd. Otherwise, you would show me the respect I am owed.
- I am the reinforcements.
- Major Anri: I know you were expecting... a few more people, but that plan has hit a bit of a snag.
- Colonel Korrd: "A few more people?" I asked you for an army, Major.
- Major Anri: And if I bring you that army now, they're as good as dead.
- Major Anri: The Republic shot down our first transport. They've got some kind of stealth weapon system--it went dark on the Executioner's scanners almost as soon as it showed up.
- Colonel Korrd: Then we need to eliminate those guns. I want my soldiers down on the surface in one piece.
- Colonel Korrd: The second our scanning instruments are functional again, we'll locate the Republic's weapons. Readings down here will be more accurate than on the Executioner.
- Major Anri: The Selkath did a real number on this place. With their home advantage and the Republic backing them up, they'll retake this position in no time.
- We won't let them.
- Player: You're absolutely right. We'll reinforce this platform while Korrd finds the Republic's guns. What sort of defenses are at our disposal?
- Colonel Korrd: There are plenty around this platform, but they were destroyed or disabled by the ion blast the Selkath triggered. You'll have to repair all the defenses manually.
- Have something in mind?
- Player: What are you suggesting we do?
- Major Anri: Colonel Korrd finds the Republic's guns, we fix our defenses.
- Colonel Korrd: There are plenty around this platform, but they were destroyed or disabled by the ion blast the Selkath triggered. You'll have to repair all the defenses manually.
- Be quiet.
- Player: I don't recall anyone asking for your opinion.
- Colonel Korrd: She's right. We won't make any progress if we can't defend ourselves. While we find the Republic's guns, you can fix our defenses.
- We won't let them.
- Major Anri: Sounds easy enough, especially for the two of us. I'm sure Darth Norok will be pleased at how well we're handling this, sir.
- Player: Who is Darth Norok?
- Major Anri: Lord Vowrawn's new right hand in logistics. Very important.
- Major Anri: Colonel Korrd manages the kolto operation, but this whole thing is under Darth Norok's jurisdiction. He gets final say on everything.
- Major Anri: Be nice if we could update him before set off, sir.
- Colonel Korrd: I'll try to contact him, but with everything that's happened, I'm sure he's on the move. Don't get your hopes up.
- Darth Norok: Korrd. Your endless missteps are becoming a considerable source of irritation.
- Colonel Korrd: I know things are grim, my lord. You have my apologies, but I--and my associates--are prepared to make things right.
- Darth Norok: See that you do.
- Colonel Korrd: Darth Norok has been briefed, and we all have our assignments. I want this entire operation back in working order--people will die without this kolto.
- Understood. I'm ready.
- Player: Then we don't have a moment to lose. Let's go, Major.
- Sergeant Talriss: Sir! The Selkath are launching another attack! They've breached the lower levels!
- Colonel Korrd: It sounds like you'll need to make a slight detour. Our defenses will be useless if the Selkath retake this platform.
- You should have let me speak.
- Player: I understand the situation's urgency, but there was no reason I couldn't have spoken for myself.
- Sergeant Talriss: Sir! The Selkath are launching another attack! They've breached the lower levels!
- Colonel Korrd: If those Selkath take this platform again, I'm afraid no one will be speaking to Darth Norok...
- Let me talk to someone competent.
- Player: If you want my help, I want to hear from someone with actual power first--not a peon.
- Sergeant Talriss: Sir! The Selkath are launching another attack! They've breached the lower levels!
- Colonel Korrd: If those Selkath take this platform again, I'm afraid no one will be speaking to Darth Norok...
- Understood. I'm ready.
- Player: Leave the Selkath to us. We'll return once the defenses are repaired.
- Colonel Korrd: Very well. Good luck to you both. Hopefully, you won't need it.
Ambient Dialogue 3 -- Invasion Zone[]
- Major Anri: Selkath are dug in deep. Let's remind them who they're dealing with."
- Major Anri: "The Selkath are everywhere! It's like a bad krek beetle infestation."
- Major Anri: "Just rewired the shields in this quadrant to triple their integrity. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself."
- Major Anri: "I've got the power cells to the surface-level defenses recharged, rebooted, and reinforced. Let's see the Selkath try and break these again...."
- Major Anri: "See that terminal? We get it back online, we restore communications--at least at short range."
- Major Anri: "We'll be able to check in with each other if we get separated."
5th Cutscene -- Secured Defense Platform[]
- Major Anri: Good news, sir: we reactivated the defense systems. Making our way back to your position now.
- Colonel Korrd: Excellent work, but unfortunately, the job isn't over yet.
- Player: What are you talking about?
- Colonel Korrd: As Major Anri so eloquently reminded me, the Selkath have the "home advantage" of infiltrating underwater targets without impediment.
- Colonel Korrd: As long as the Selkath can so easily enter the platform sublevels, our surface defenses won't be enough to repel them--as demonstrated by this second assault.
- Colonel Korrd: The order just came down from Darth Norok: you're to deploy underwater defenses before you return. We have an assortment of mines that should do the trick.
- Major Anri: This was Darth Norok's idea? Wasn't he the one who said the mines were a "waste of time" in the first place?
- Colonel Korrd: I sincerely hope you're not questioning the word of a Sith, Major. I know you're smarter than that.
- Major Anri: Well... if Darth Norok wants mines, then I guess we'd better get him some.
- Korrd was too harsh.
- Player: That was... Are you all right?
- Major Anri: Oh-yeah, don't worry about me. I just forget sometimes how much Korrd buys into the whole "Sith shall always reign supreme" idea.
- Korrd was unhelpful.
- Player: And where are we supposed to get these mines? Korrd wasn't exactly clear about that.
- Korrd was right about the Sith
- Player: You need to learn respect for those more powerful than you, Major--quickly, before one of us decides to teach you the hard way.
- Major Anri: Understood. Completely.
- Korrd was too harsh.
- Major Anri: Come on, there's a submersible droid in our mining facility that should make this easier for us--just need to get to it.
