Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire, simply known as Knights of the Fallen Empire, is the fifth expansion to the massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) set in the Old Republic era and the third paid expansion. It was developed by BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts and was released on October 20th, 2015 to subscribers who have received the early access authorization and for all other players on October 27th, 2015. The expansion's first eleven chapters were made available at that time, with a new chapter made available for unlock every month afterwards. All chapters were made available to subscribers at no additional cost. It introduced a new level cap of 65 and is set after the fall of both the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire.

Story[]
The Sith Empire has fallen. The Galactic Republic has faded into obscurity. In their absence, a new galactic power takes control of the known galaxy: the Eternal Empire. Reigning with an iron fist and dominating everything in it's path, this new superpower is ruled by an Immortal Emperor and his two sons. You play as the Outlander, frozen in carbonite, a relic of a bygone age, now awoken and determined to discover what happened in your absense.

Chapters[]
The expansion is comprised of 16 different chapters, each expanding the story. The first nine were made available to players during early access (October 20th) and expansion launch (October 27th), with the other five chapters set to be released during the months to follow. Chapters are free to all subscribers assuming they have an active subscription at the time of the chapter's release. Only active subscribers are able to access the subscription: contrary to models from other expansions due to the different chapter-styled content, this expansion is not available for purchase.
