A story area is an instanced area available only during certain points of a story line and, at times, restricted to specific classes. The entrance to a story area is green if it is accessible and red if it is not. While inside the area, the owner of the instance can be identified by the yellow bar around the toolbar at the top of the UI. Group members can enter the story area to assist the instance owner, but only if they are not of the required class (for example, if you're a Sith Warrior, other Sith Warriors in your group will not be able to access the story area), however you can allow players of the same class to assist by enabling the option in Preferences under the Social section.
