The techblade is the companion exclusive counterpart to the vibrosword. In order to equip techblades, a companion must have the Weapon Proficiency: Techblade ability. Techblades have since been mostly rendered obsolete in Game Update 4.0.0 when the companion system was revamped, with companion gear no longer providing stat bonuses.
