The techstaff is the companion exclusive counterpart to the electrostaff. In order to equip techstaves, a companion must have the Weapon Proficiency: Techstaff ability. Techstaves have since been mostly rendered obsolete in Game Update 4.0.0 when the companion system was revamped, with companion gear no longer providing stat bonuses.
